I love being the new social media manager here at Bauer’s Intelligent Transportation. I love spreading the word about our green, friendly, high-tech, convenient, innovative, comfortable and luxurious transportation. Today really opened my eyes to what we are doing here. We are more than just the premier eco-friendly transportation company in the Bay Area. We are a big family here at Bauer’s that is just trying to do what we can to help our community.
In my blog last week, I discussed how every year we give over 50 turkeys and Care Bags with all the fixings to families in need at the Willie Brown Center at Hunter’s Point. The sun was shining in San Francisco yesterday when we arrived at the center and people were lined up to greet us. I felt on top of the world walking around taking pictures and talking to the grateful crowd. I got so many smiles, handshakes, and praises for our good deed. It truly was an awesome feeling to see first-hand what we do bring such joy into people’s lives.
It made my heart feel good to give back for Thanksgiving. I could tell that the rest of the Bauer’s employees felt the same way. We were all singing and smiling on our way home. I think our project manager, Mia S. summed everybody’s feelings when she said: “Being a part of the Bauer’s Thanksgiving Dinner Donation was a very special experience for me. Knowing that I, as a member of the Bauer’s team, was able to help some 50 families have a true Thanksgiving meal meant very much. As I was handing out turkeys and care bags I saw so many happy and grateful faces, and I knew then that we at Bauer’s are actually making a difference in these people’s lives, even if only for one day. And, that, in and of itself, makes this Thanksgiving a special one for me.”
